"I knew I wanted to go to Clarkson when I was thinking of transferring. I needed a better fit with the social aspects and I liked Clarkson's more rigorous academics. I want to go on to graduate school and I know Clarkson will prepare me well for that." - Falisha Gilman '11

Transfer Students
At Clarkson, we take the guesswork out of transferring. Our Office of Transfer Admission is dedicated to providing you with customized service that meets your individual needs. Whether you have questions about admission requirements, financial aid, campus housing or transfer credit, our Transfer Admission staff is here to help you.
The check list below outlines how to apply and our transfer requirements. We ask that you submit the following:
- The Transfer Application
- Official transcripts from each college or university you have attended (please include course descriptions if attending a college or university outside New York State)
- Dean of Students Recommendation Form
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Statement (optional)
- $50 application fee: The application fee is waived for all applicants who apply online or participate in an on- or off-campus interview with an admission representative.
- If you are applying with less than 24 hours of college credit, an official secondary school transcript and SAT or ACT score report are required.
- A Personal Statement is required for students applying to Pre-Physical Therapy.
Credit Evaluation
Once you're accepted, an academic department will review your relevant coursework and tell you how many credits you will need to complete your degree. The faculty member who completes this evaluation will determine how many credits will transfer into the degree program you've chosen as well as outline a suggested course schedule for your first semester. In order to evaluate your credits, it is important that you send us your course descriptions/course syllabi. In most cases, credit evaluations are completed and sent out to transfer students within two weeks of acceptance.
To ensure that your application receives careful consideration, it is important to meet the application deadlines. Find out more information on when to apply.
